On Friday the 6th of February 2015, Assumption College Bangrak welcomed agents from Cambridge English Language Assessment who came to conduct the Key English Test (KET) and Preliminary English Test (PET) for our students. The results from these exams are in, but first here is a bit of background on the exams themselves.
Cambridge English: Key (KET)
Cambridge English: Key, also known as the Key English Test (KET), is an English language examination provided by Cambridge English Language Assessment (previously known as The University of Cambridge ESOL Examination). Cambridge English: Key is a pre-intermediate to intermediate level qualification which demonstrates the ability to communicate using English in simple situations.
Cambridge English: Preliminary (PET)
Cambridge English: Preliminary, also known as the Preliminary English Test (PET) is an English language examination provided by Cambridge English Language Assessment (previously known as The University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations). Cambridge English: Preliminary is a challenging intermediate to upper-intermediate level qualification which demonstrates the ability to communicate using English for everyday purposes. This exam is excellent preparation along the road to the IELTS exam, which for our students would be taken during the M6 year.
Both of the exams listed above are Computer Based Tests, and are graded externally by Cambridge. The skills tested by CBT are Reading, Writing, and Listening. The Speaking test is done face to face on our campus by a specially trained examiner.
